Administrative Review of Your Denied Social Security Disability Claim
It is disappointing and frustrating to be turned down for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). But you should not feel hopeless if your initial claim was denied. The vast majority of all applicants are turned down at first, but with legal help you may still win benefits by filing an amended claim or filing an appeal.
Greg Jones Law handles SSDI and SSI claims in nationwide. We are committed to taking your claim as far as necessary to win the benefits you deserve.
You have 60 days from the date that you are notified of a denial to resubmit the claim for Reconsideration.

What Is Reconsideration?
The first step in the Social Security Administration’s appeals process is called Reconsideration. The initial application is considered by an SSA claims representative. In Reconsideration, your claim is reviewed by a different SSA representative or by a claims manager. The original claim is given a fresh look, along with any new evidence such as ongoing medical treatment or attempts to return to work.
Our firm can help you at any point in the process:
- Preparing your initial application for SSDI or SSI
- Amending your denied claim and submitting it for Reconsideration
- Requesting a hearing if your claim was denied again on Reconsideration
Making The Most Of Reconsideration
The approval rate at Reconsideration is very low — even lower than initial claims. However, we do not just go through the motions and throw the same claim back at the SSA. Our firm carefully reviews the claim to determine if there is anything missing and we amend your application to include additional documentation or updated medical records.
By making sure that your file is complete, accurate and up-to-date, we aim for that slim minority of claims that are approved on Reconsideration. This time and effort also pays off if your case proceeds to an administrative law judge (ALJ) hearing.
